Service and how it works
This page describes exactly what the application retrieves, the permissions it asks for, and how a seller grants and withdraws access.
Data we retrieve
Two datasets, both aggregated business performance data:
Sales & Traffic
- Sessions and page views, by day and by ASIN or SKU
- Ordered product sales and units ordered
- Unit session percentage (conversion rate)
- Buy Box percentage
Economics
Retrieved from Amazon's Data Kiosk economics dataset. Coverage varies: the fields below are returned subject to availability in the individual seller's dataset, and some depend on information the seller has entered in their own Amazon account.
- Sales and refunds
- Advertising spend (subject to availability)
- Fee breakdown — fulfilment, referral and storage fees (subject to availability)
- Cost of goods, only where the seller has entered it in their Amazon account (subject to availability)
- Net proceeds, in total and per unit (subject to availability)
We confirm actual coverage against the current Data Kiosk schema and the first authorised seller before relying on any of these fields in reporting.
Permissions we request
The application requests two roles: Brand Analytics and Selling Partner Insights. Neither is a restricted role, neither grants access to buyer personally identifiable information, and we request no role that does.
How authorisation works
- We send the seller a link to Amazon's own authorisation page.
- The seller signs in to Seller Central and reviews the permissions being requested.
- If the seller consents, Amazon returns an authorisation to our application, which we exchange for a long-lived credential.
- That credential is encrypted before storage and is used only to retrieve that seller's data.
We never ask for, receive or store a seller's Amazon username or password. Authorisation happens entirely on Amazon's own pages.
Withdrawing authorisation
A seller can revoke access at any time from Seller Central → Apps & Services → Manage Your Apps, with no notice to us and no reason required. Access ends immediately on revocation, and we delete the stored credential and the retrieved data within 30 days, as set out in our privacy policy.
What we never do
- We never modify listings, inventory, pricing, orders or any other seller data.
- We never access buyer personally identifiable information or restricted Amazon data.
- We never sell, rent or share seller data with third parties.
- We never use one client's data to inform work for another client.
